COVID Cases in SA
There have been 1,138 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 13,292 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm a woman in her 60s, a woman in her 90s, a woman older than 100, and a man in his 70s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.
There are 219 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 18 people in ICU, and five people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 120 people are fully vaccinated, 40 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 59 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases have been readjusted.

Variants
Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 97% of samples taken returned an Omicron result.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 6,852 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is less than a 1% increase on the previous 24 hours. Of the tests results returned yesterday, 819 PCR tests were positive, while 319 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Vaccination update
Currently 94.8% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 91.9% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 64.9% of eligible South Australians and 49.6% of South Australians aged 16+.
