COVID Cases in SA
There have been 1,624 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 13,822 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm two women intheir 80s, a man in his 60s and a man in his 80s, who tested positive forCOVID-19, have passed away.
There are 227 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 19 people inICU, and five people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 122 people arefully vaccinated, 42 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated,and 63 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases have been readjusted.

Variants
Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 97% of samples taken returned an Omicron result.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 10,257 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 49.7% increase on the previous 24 hours. Of the tests results returned yesterday, 1,275 PCR tests were positive, while 349 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Vaccination update
Currently 94.9% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 92% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 49.7% of eligible South Australians and 50.3% of South Australians aged 16+.
