COVID Cases in SA
There have been 1,440 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 14,068 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm two women in their 60s, and a man in his 50s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.
There are 221 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 13 people in ICU, and two people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 118 people are fully vaccinated, 40 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 63 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases have been readjusted.

Variants
Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 97% of samples taken returned an Omicron result.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 9,082 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is an 11.5% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the tests results returned yesterday, 1,096 PCR tests were positive, while 344 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Vaccination update
Currently 95% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 92% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 65.7% of eligible South Australians and 50.9% of South Australians aged 16+.
