COVID Cases in SA
There have been 4,474 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 19,541 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm two women in their 80s and a man in his 40s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.
There are 132 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including eight people in ICU, and three people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 80 people are fully vaccinated, 47 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and five have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

Variants
Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia with 100% of the latest sampling returning an Omicron result.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 15,171 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 49.2% increase on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 3,091 PCR tests were positive, while 1,383 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Vaccination update
Currently 95% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 92.5% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 69.2% of eligible South Australians and 60.1% of South Australians aged 16+.
