COVID Cases in SA
There have been 4,274 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 21,651 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm a man in his 20s, a woman in her 40s and a man in his 80s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.
There are 136 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including five people in ICU, and three people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 83 people are fully vaccinated, 48 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and five have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

Variants
Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia with 100% of the latest sampling returning an Omicron result. The latest genome sampling has found around 48% of samples taken were BA.2.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 13,524 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 11% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 2,975 PCR tests were positive, while 1,299 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Vaccination update
Currently 95% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 92.5% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 69.4% of eligible South Australians and 60.4% of South Australians aged 16+.
