COVID cases in SA
There have been 2,848 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 19,869 active cases in South Australia.
SA Health can confirm a woman in her 90s, a man in his 70s and a man in his 80s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.
There are 352 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 9 people in ICU. Of those hospitalised, 215 people have received three or more vaccine doses, 123 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 14 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

Variants
The latest genome sampling has found 14.8% of samples analysed were BA.2, 16.3% of samples analysed were BA.4 and 68.1% of samples analysed were BA.5 or related variant.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 9,019 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 44.4% increase on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,371 PCR tests were positive, while 1,477 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Vaccination update
Currently 96.1% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 94.1% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 74.5% of eligible South Australians and 70.1% of South Australians aged 16+.
