COVID Cases in SA
There have been 3,023 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 31,582 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm two women in their 80s, a woman over the age of 100, a man in his 30s, a man in 80s and a man in 90s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.
There are 298 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 33 people in ICU and seven people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 179 people are fully vaccinated, 46 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 73 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases have been readjusted.

Variants
Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 95% of samples taken returned an Omicron result.

Yesterday, 14,683 people received a PCR test in South Australia, a 2% decrease on the previous 24 hours.
Vaccination update
Currently 93.8% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine, 90.1% have received their second dose and there were 19,586 booster shots given yesterday bringing the total booster shots to 434,391.
