COVID Cases in SA
There have been 2,686 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 15,718 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm a woman in her 60s, a woman in her 80s, a man in his 60s and a man in his 80s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.
There are 223 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including seven people in ICU. Of those hospitalised, 132 people have received three or more vaccine doses and 87 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and four have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

Variants
The latest genome sampling from 1 to 7 June has found 83.7% of samples taken were BA.2.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 8,173 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is an 13.3% increase on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,425 PCR tests were positive, while 1,261 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Vaccination update
Currently 95.9% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 93.9% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 73% of eligible South Australians and 68.4% of South Australians aged 16+.
