COVID Cases in SA
There have been 1,958 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 14,119 active cases in South Australia.
There are 192 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 14 people in ICU, and three people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 101 people are fully vaccinated, 34 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 57 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

Variants
Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 97% of samples taken returned an Omicron result.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 10,598 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 20.3% increase on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,521 PCR tests were positive, while 437 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Vaccination update
Currently 95.2% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 92.3% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 67% of eligible South Australians and 53.7% of South Australians aged 16+.
