COVID Cases in SA
There have been 1,735 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 14,826 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm a man in his 60s, and two men in their 80s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.
There are 142 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 13 people in ICU, and four people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 80 people are fully vaccinated, 21 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 41 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

Variants
Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 97% of samples taken returned an Omicron result.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 12,184 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 15% increase on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,270 PCR tests were positive, while 465 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Vaccination update
Currently 94.5% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 91.7% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 67.2% of eligible South Australians and 54.2% of South Australians aged 16+.
