There have been 2,009 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 27,991 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm a woman in her 40s and a man in his 70s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.
There are 294 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 29 people in ICU and six people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 170 people are fully vaccinated, 44 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 80 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases have been readjusted.

Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 95% of samples taken returned an Omicron result.

Vaccination update
Currently 93.9% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine, 90.3% have received their second dose and there were 7,218 booster shots given yesterday bringing the total booster shots to 470,715.
