COVID Cases in SA
There have been 1,869 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 30,641 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm a woman in her 70s, a woman over the age of 100, a man in his 80s and two men in their 90s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.
There are 287 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 32 people in ICU and five people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 164 people are fully vaccinated, 45 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 78 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases have been readjusted.

Variants
Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 95% of samples taken returned an Omicron result.

Yesterday, 9,733 people received a PCR test in South Australia, a less than 1% decrease on the previous 24 hours.
Vaccination update
Currently 94% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine, 90.3% have received their second dose and there were 17,246 booster shots given yesterday bringing the total booster shots to 487,961.
