COVID Cases in SA
There have been 4,459 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 28,190 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm a woman in her 90s, a man in his 30s, a man in his 40s and a man in his 80s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.
There are 157 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including six people in ICU, and one person requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 117 people are fully vaccinated, 34 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and six have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

The latest genome sampling has found around 70% of samples taken were BA.2.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 16,671 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 0.3% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 3,117 PCR tests were positive, while 1,342 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Vaccination update
Currently 95.1% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 92.8% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 69.7% of eligible South Australians and 61.7% of South Australians aged 16+.
