COVID cases in SA
There have been 770 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 5,418 active cases in South Australia.
There are 176* people with COVID-19 in hospital, including ten people in ICU.
*A reconciliation of hospital data following a delay in the notification of hospital discharges has resulted in a reduction in the total number of people in hospital. Hospitalisation vaccination data is unavailable for today’s report.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

Variants
The latest genome sampling has found 2.1% of samples analysed were BA.2, 6.2% of samples analysedwere BA.4 and 87.5% of samples analysed were BA.5 or related variant.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 5,428 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 20.9% increase on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 419 PCR tests were positive, while 351 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Vaccination update
Currently 96.2% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 94.3% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 75% of eligible South Australians and 70.7% of South Australians aged 16+.
