COVID cases in SA
There have been 566 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 5,207 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm a woman in her 70s, a woman in her 80s, a one man is his 90s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.
There are 165 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 8 people in ICU. Of those hospitalised, 115 people have received three or more vaccine doses, 46 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 4 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

Variants
The latest genome sampling has found 2.1% of samples analysed were BA.2, 6.2% of samples analysed were BA.4 and 87.5% of samples analysed were BA.5 or related variant.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 4,704 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 13.3% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 270 PCR tests were positive, while 296 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Vaccination update
Currently 96% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 94.1% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 74.3% of eligible South Australians and 69.9% of South Australians aged 16+.
