COVID cases in SA
There have been 4,197 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 25,858 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm two women in their 80s and two men in their 90s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.
There are 365 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including eight people in ICU. Of those hospitalised, 216 people have received three or more vaccine doses, 135 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 14 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

Variants
The latest genome sampling has found 14.8% of samples analysed were BA.2, 16.3% of samples analysedwere BA.4 and 68.1% of samples analysed were BA.5 or related variant.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 11,853 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is an 42.2% increase on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 2,301 PCR tests were positive, while 1,896 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Vaccination update
Currently 96% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 94.1% havereceived their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 74.3% ofeligible South Australiansand 69.9% of South Australians aged 16+
