COVID Cases in SA
There have been 1,358 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 15,432 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm a man in his 80s, who tested positive for COVID-19, has passed away.
There are 109 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 10 people in ICU, and two people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 57 people are fully vaccinated, 21 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 31 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

Variants
Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 97% of samples taken returned an Omicron result.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 7,342 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is an 18.2% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 904 PCR tests were positive, while 454 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Vaccination update
Currently 94.6% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 91.9% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 67.9% of eligible South Australians and 55.7% of South Australians aged 16+.
