COVID Cases in SA
There have been 1,583 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 18,308 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm a woman aged more than 100, who tested positive for COVID-19, has passed away.
There are 226 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 18 people in ICU and five people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 134 people are fully vaccinated, 33 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 59 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases have been readjusted.

Variants
Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 97% of samples taken returned an Omicron result.

Yesterday, 9,122 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 9.5% decrease on the previous 24 hours.
Vaccination update
Currently 94.5% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 91.1% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 60.2% of eligible South Australians and 42.9% of South Australians aged 18+.
