COVID Cases in SA
There have been 1,505 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 19,847 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm three men in their 70s, a woman in her 80s, a woman in her 90s and a woman over the age of 100 who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.
There are 281 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 25 people in ICU and four people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 175 people are fully vaccinated, 40 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 66 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases have been readjusted.

Variants
Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 97% of samples taken returned an Omicron result*.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 8,880 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 2.5% decrease on the previous 24 hours.
Vaccination update
Currently 94.2% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 90.8% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 57.9% of eligible South Australians and 40.1% of South Australians aged 18+.
