COVID Cases in SA
There have been 2,559 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 18,337 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm a woman in her 80s who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.
There are 220 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including nine people in ICU, with three people ventilated. Of those hospitalised, 124 people have received three or more vaccine doses and 93 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and three have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

Variants
The latest genome sampling from 1 to 21 June has found 74.6% of samples taken were BA.2.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 5,362 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 3.7% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,015 PCR tests were positive, while 1,544 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Vaccination update
Currently 95.9% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 93.9% havereceived their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 73.3% ofeligible South Australiansand 68.9% of South Australians aged 16+.
