COVID cases in SA
There have been 1,595 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 16,259 active cases in South Australia.
There are 316 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 12 people in ICU and two ventilated. Of those hospitalised, 196 people have received three or more vaccine doses, 95 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 25 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

Variants
The latest genome sampling has found 11% of samples analysed were BA.2, 11% of samples analysed were BA.4 and 77.9% of samples analysed were BA.5 or related variant.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 6,436 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 20% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 827 PCR tests were positive, while 768 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
