COVID Cases in SA
There have been 1,671 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 14,312 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm a woman inher 60s and a man in his 90s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passedaway.
There are 210 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 18 people in ICU, and three people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 119 people are fully vaccinated, 39 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 52 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases have been readjusted.

Variants
Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 97% of samples taken returned an Omicron result.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 9,953 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 19% increase on the previous 24 hours. Of the tests results returned yesterday, 1,298 PCR tests were positive, while 373 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Vaccination update
Currently 94.7% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 91.5% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 62.6% of eligible South Australians and 46.1% of South Australians aged 16+.
