COVID Cases in SA
There have been 2,560 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 20,279 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm two men in their 90s, and a woman in her 70s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.
There are 90 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 15 people in ICU, and two people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 50 people are fully vaccinated, 16 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 24 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

Variants
Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 97% of samples taken returned an Omicron result.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 13,034 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 26.3% increase on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,920 PCR tests were positive, while 640 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Vaccination update
Currently 94.8% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 92.2% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 69% of eligible South Australians and 58.4% of South Australians aged 16+.
