RJ Sillitoe Reserve will soon be home to enhanced community facilities with construction due to commence on a modern, multi-purpose pavilion in March 2022.
The two out-of-date pavilions will be demolished to make way for a fit-for-purpose, sustainable all-community pavilion.
The new pavilion will better meet the changing needs of local sport and provide a great space for the broader community to use.
The pavilion will have facilities to support players of all genders and abilities and expansive shelter for spectators and general reserve users.
The area will be landscaped and planting will create an additional buffer between abutting residents and the pavilion.
The new pavilion will be an environmentally conscious building with, among other things, solar panels, large windows to utilise natural light and electric appliances. It will be built using sustainable materials.
Work is scheduled to begin in coming days, but the sportsground will remain open during construction, with public toilets provided (excluding during organised sport).
The car park will be closed for the duration of work which is expected to be completed in early 2023.
