AFP Special Operation Avalite is releasing images and footage of a man who could assist an investigation into the vandalism of a Victorian Senator’s electorate office in January, 2024.
The images and videos were recorded on CCTV about 5.25am on 31 January, 2024, and show a man spray painting abusive messages on the window and front door of the office in the Melbourne suburb of South Yarra.
The man then left the area in a vehicle.
The man had light coloured hair, a moustache and was dressed in an orange, high-visibility work shirt, beige coloured pants and black work boots.
Anyone with information is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
AFP Counter Terrorism and Special Investigations Command Assistant Commissioner Stephen Nutt said Special Operation Avalite investigators were tirelessly working through dozens of reports of antisemtic crimes.
“Special Operation Avalite has recently charged four men for separate alleged antisemitic crimes and we will continue to prosecute anyone who has been involved in such incident whether that be in the past 24 hours or the past two years,” Assistant Commissioner Nutt said.
“There is no place for antisemitism in Australian society and anyone who engages in antisemitic conduct will be investigated and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”
