State Highway Patrol police impounded four vehicles due to speeding and other traffic offences in the Shepparton area yesterday.
Officers clocked a 2005 BMW allegedly travelling at 111km/h in a 60km/h zone on Verney Road in Shepparton.
Police intercepted the vehicle and spoke to the driver.
The 33-year-old Shepparton man’s vehicle was impounded for 30 days, at a cost of $1240.
A 47-year-old Sunbury man, a 43-year-old Footscray woman and a 46-year-old Shepparton man also had their vehicles impounded for various offences, including driving whilst disqualified.
The impounds were part of Operation Compass, the state-wide road policing operation during the high-risk Easter holiday period.
Police are targeting impaired driving, speed, distraction, and fatigue in high-risk areas throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.
Operation Compass concludes at 11.59pm on Monday, 25 April.
