A 21-year-old P-plater was detected allegedly drink driving in Kew this morning.
Police intercepted a Holden Cruze on the Eastern Freeway just about 3am.
The driver and sole occupant of the car was allegedly detected driving 148km/h in a 100km/h zone.
He is expected to be charged on summons with speed dangerous, exceed speed limit and fail to display P-plates to appear in court at a later date.
His vehicle was impounded at a cost of $873 for a period of 30 days.
