More than $400,000 in funding is available for community organisations and businesses through City of Darwin’s sponsorship program.
The sponsorship program aims to support events, projects, activities and services that create value for the social, economic, cultural and environmental life of Darwin.
Lord Mayor Kon Vatskalis said he was pleased City of Darwin could continue to support the Darwin community through the sponsorship program and encouraged organisations of all sizes to apply.
“The sponsorship program provides funding that supports a range of different events, projects, activities and services that contribute to the local economy and help make Darwin the vibrant and colourful city it is today,” Mr Vatskalis said.
“When reviewing applications we consider a variety of factors, including whether the activity will reach a large number of visitors and community members and whether the activity helps to contribute to the identity of our city.
“We also look at whether the event, project, activity or service promotes economic growth, tourism and community participation,” he said.
City of Darwin has previously sponsored the Darwin Festival, Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair, Tourism Top End Visitor Information Centre, and Darwin Fringe Festival.
High-profile events, projects, activities and services that align with the City of Darwin brand and are professionally managed are encouraged. Applications spanning three-year periods are also favoured.
