Stand With Us During NAIDOC Week 2024

This year’s NAIDOC Week theme, Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud & Proud celebrates the unyielding spirit of our communities and invites all to stand in solidarity, amplifying the voices that have long been silenced.

³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia in the first week of July each year.

Let’s take the opportunity during NAIDOC Week to listen, learn and engage in meaningful dialogue with our First Nations peoples.

The City of Stonnington will be hosting a series of events to celebrate the rich history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples

Flag Raising ceremony

Join us in celebrating our indigenous culture ahead of NAIDOC Week with a and special Yidaki (didgeridoo) performance at Malvern Town Hall, 10.30am on Thursday, 4 July 2024.

This is a free event. Following the ceremony, all are welcome to enjoy light refreshments and a cuppa.

Welcome to Country for Bubup

Families with young children are invited to a special Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony by Bunurrong Elder and a free fun-filled morning of activities to celebrate NAIDOC Week 2024.

Come along to at Windsor Siding Children’s playground, 104 Union Street, Windsor from 10am-12pm, Wednesday 3 July.

First Nations story time

Come along to a morning of with Jardwadjali Elder, Aunty Titta Secombe.

Aunty Titta will read aloud her picture book, Marngrook: The long-ago story of Aussie Rules and share Dreaming stories.
