The Conservative Party’s South Australian Senate candidate, Rikki Lambert has called on the State Liberal Government to radically improve its water allocations for Murray River irrigators after it said early indications are that initial water allocations for 2019/20 could be as low as 14 per cent.
South Australian irrigators along the Murray River face having their water allocations slashed in the coming financial year if the dry conditions continue.
SA’s Water Minister David Speirs said the low allocation was based on current water storage volumes across the Murray-Darling Basin and projected inflows to the river system.
Rikki has told ABC Radio’s Narelle Graham, the State Liberal Government isn’t supporting South Australian irrigators and neither is Pauline Hanson’s One Nation Party.
