A State Memorial will be held for the former Administrator of the Northern Territory, the Honourable Tom Pauling AO KC.
It will be held on Wednesday 13 December at the Christ Church Anglican Cathedral, 2 Smith Street, Darwin City, at 4:21pm.
Mr Pauling was a larger than life Territorian, who contributed his time to a number of boards, and was heavily involved in the creative arts. Mr Pauling was dedicated to the Territory and seeing it grow and prosper.
Arriving in the Northern Territory in 1970, Mr Pauling worked as barrister, and in 1988 he was named Solicitor-General of the Northern Territory. He served in this role until 2007.
In September 2007 Mr Pauling was appointed as the 19th Administrator of the Northern Territory. He spent the next four years travelling the Territory, and advocating for Territorians.
In recognition of his service to the Territory Mr Pauling was awarded the Officer of the Order of Australia in 2008.
