Statement from a Victorian Liberal Party spokesperson:
Wes McKnight has advised us today that due to personal circumstances regarding the need to relinquish his US citizenship, he has withdrawn his nomination to be the Liberal candidate for Ballarat.
We thank Wes McKnight for his service to the Party. The Party will advise its new candidate for Ballarat in due course.
