I note today’s decision regarding the charges against Justice Gregory Geason.
I am advised that the matter has been adjourned until 12 November 2024 for submissions in relation to sentencing.
I have also received advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions. Until Justice Geason is sentenced, the prosecution is not concluded.
Public commentary on this matter prior to sentencing, including political commentary, has the potential to prejudice this process.
