In response to , Save the Children’s Country Director in Afghanistan, Chris Nyamandi, said:
“Save the Children is outraged and strongly condemns the reported attack on a high school today in Kabul. We’re deeply saddened about reports that children have been injured, and possibly killed, in the blasts.
“All children have the right to access a safe education. No school should be deliberately targeted, and no child should fear physical harm at or on the way to school.
“Children in Afghanistan have endured years of violence. Today’s reported blasts . The killing and maiming of children and attacks on schools are never acceptable and are prohibited under international law.
“Save the Children calls for safe access to education at all times for children in Afghanistan and for perpetrators of grave violations against children to be held to account.”
