The Minerals Council of Australia is deeply saddened by the fatality at the Austar Coal Mine in the Hunter Valley.
We extend our heartfelt sympathies to the family, friends, and colleagues of the individual.
We also wish to thank all first responders for their professional and coordinated response to this incident.
Safety remains the highest priority for our industry, and any loss of life is a stark reminder of the critical importance of our ongoing efforts to ensure every worker returns home safely.
