We’re pleased to advise that we have been able to come to a limited interim arrangement with Polytrade to accept and process Casey recyclable materials instead of sending it all to landfill. This arrangement starts from today.
There is still limited spare capacity in the Victorian recycling industry which has made it challenging to find a solution. Under the arrangement, Polytrade will recycle a significant percentage of our recyclables. However, this will vary from day-to-day, based on their capacity. The collection of household waste and recycling bins will continue as normal during this time.
We are continuing to advocate to the State Government and working on finding a longer-term solution and to have this service in place as soon possible.
Residents can assist by reducing their waste and continuing to place the correct items in each bin. Residents can also assist by squashing, squeezing and flattening their recycling so more fits into the bin, and only put the recycling bin out for collection once it is full.
