Bayside City Council is aware of media reports yesterday regarding a resident’s fence permit enquiry.
Council spoke with the resident this week and advised that, as the resident’s property is subject to a Heritage Overlay, an application for a new fence would require an appropriate design response.
No application has been lodged, nor has a design been provided.
Council will work with applicants to, where possible, find design solutions that address their concerns.
We look forward to working with the resident to resolve the design options.
The average fee for this kind of application is approximately $450, not $9000 as stated yesterday in media reports.
