Boroondara Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance to identify a thief who used stolen credit cards to purchase more than $2500 worth of items across Melbourne.
Police have been told an unknown man stole at least two credit cards from two separate vehicles in the Camberwell area between Friday, 27 October and Monday, 30 October.
Officers believe the stolen cards were then used to purchase items in Camberwell, Hawthorn, Ashwood, Templestowe, Collingwood, Richmond, Murrumbeena, and Cremorne during the same time period.
It is believed the same man was also involved in an assault at a service station on Carrington Road in Box Hill on 27 October.
Police have released images and CCTV of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
He is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, and aged in his 30’s.
He has long hair tied in a ponytail, a beard, is approximately 180cm tall.
One on occasion, he was seen wearing a black Raiders jacket and grey tracksuit pants.
