Stolen vehicle charges at Bli Bli

Two men have been charged following an incident involving an alleged stolen vehicle on the Sunshine Coast overnight.

Around 9.27pm officers patrolling observed a stolen white Toyota Camry sedan stopped at a Bli Bli service station.

When police pulled in it will be alleged the driver reversed and accelerated as the passenger walked inside where he was arrested.

A short time later the sedan was observed by officers allegedly travelling at high speeds though Parklands, Yandina, Bli Bli and Coolum.

A pursuit was authorised due to the vehicle’s manner of driving and officers were able to successfully deploy a tyre deflation device.

The sedan continued into an industrial estate at Lysaght Street in Coolum where the driver was arrested without incident.

A 40-year-old Yandina man has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and was given police bail to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on July 31.

The driver, a 41-year-old Goodna man, will appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court today charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of a weapon, evade, possess tainted property, unauthorised and prohibited explosives and fail to properly dispose of a needle.

The vehicle was reported stolen from a Webster Road address in Nambour on April 17.
