Police have charged two teenagers following a string of alleged dangerous driving incidents across the Gold Coast this weekend.
It will be alleged just before 7.30pm last night, July 13, police tracked a stolen Nissan Pathfinder as it was driving dangerously in the Labrador area.
With assistance from Polair, the vehicle was followed to Pimpama Jacobs Well Road at Pimpama where a tyre deflation device was successfully deployed at approximately 9.45pm.
Two occupants allegedly abandoned the vehicle and left the scene on foot towards the Old Pacific Highway.
They were taken into police custody a short time later.
A 16-year-old Arundel boy has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of motor vehicle, dangerous driving, and driving without a licence.
He was denied bail is due to appear at Southport Childrens Court on Wednesday, July 17.
A 15-year-old Biggera Waters girl has been charged with unlawful use of motor vehicle.
She was denied bail and is due to appear at Southport Childrens Court on Monday, July 15.
It will be alleged the vehicle was stolen from a Clear Island Waters address on Friday, July 12.
Investigations are continuing into similar alleged dangerous driving incidents across the Gold Coast this weekend, with more arrests likely.
