Stolen Vehicle Charges, Darling Downs

Police have charged two people following an alleged stolen vehicle pursuit across the Sunshine Coast and Darling Downs Districts yesterday, August 19.

It will be alleged at approximately 10pm on August 18, two people broke into a Reinhold Crescent property at Chermside and stole a Range Rover.

Just after 1pm yesterday, the vehicle was tracked by Polair to Blackbutt where a tyre deflation device was deployed.

The vehicle continued on from Little Mountain to Nanango, and was later abandoned along the Burnett Highway at Sandy Ridges.

The two occupants allegedly fled on foot and were tracked by dog squad.

The pair then allegedly stole an unoccupied John Deer Gator utility vehicle from a Sandy Ridges Road property.

Police tracked the vehicle and it was located in a nearby vacant lot, with dog squad locating and arresting the pair a short time later.

A 23-year-old Wilsonton man has been charged with burglary, two counts each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and dangerous operation of a vehicle, evade police, trespass and traffic offences.

He was denied police bail and is due to appear before Murgon Magistrates Court today, August 20.

A 14-year-old Cherbourg girl was charged with two counts of unlawful use of motor vehicle, and one count each of burglary, trespass and an outstanding arrest warrant for robbery.
