Stolen vehicle charges in Helensvale, QLD

Gold Coast detectives have charged two people after a man was allegedly assaulted before having his car stolen in Helensvale this morning, April 4.

Police will allege at approximately 6am, three people, armed with a knife and firearm, broke in to a North Bank Court residence where they assaulted a 51-year-old Helensvale man.

The man was attending to his car in the garage at the time of the alleged incident, and sustained minor injuries.

The car, a white 2015 Maserati Ghibli, was allegedly stolen soon after.

Another car, a mauve 2017 mauve Porshe Cayenne, that was parked in the driveway was also allegedly damaged by the group.

Police tracked the Maserati from the Gold Coast to Logan using PolAir.

It was eventually located in Trinity Way at Drewvale at approximately 12.15pm.

A 27-year-old Logan man was taken into custody.

He has been charged with 12 offences, including: three counts of unlawful use of motor vehicle, two counts each of enter dwelling with intent and armed robbery, and one count each of wilful damage, unlawful possession of weapons, enter premises and commit indictable offence, dangerous conduct with weapon and dangerous operation of a vehicle.

He is due to appear at Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow, April 5.

An 18-year-old South Toowoomba woman was taken into custody in Beenleigh.

She has been charged with seven offences, including: two counts each of enter dwelling with intent and armed robbery, and one count each of enter premises and commit indictable offence, unlawful possession of weapons and unlawful use of motor vehicle

She is due to appear at Magistrates Court tomorrow, April 5.

Police are seeking public assistance to identify a third man who may be able to assist with investigations.

He was last seen driving away from the North Bank Court residence around the time of the alleged incident in a white Mercedes Benz.
