Police have charged five people after a reported stolen vehicle was tracked from Rockville to Toowoomba City this morning.
It will be alleged that around 7:20am, a 2012 Nissan Dualis, reported stolen from a Rangeville address earlier this week, was spotted driving erratically along Holberton Street at Rockville.
The vehicle was located and tracked for some time by both officers and PolAir.
It will be further alleged that during this time, the vehicle travelled to the Highfields area and then back towards Toowoomba City around 9:40am.
A short time later, a tyre deflation device was successfully deployed on the vehicle, with a slow-speed pursuit authorized a short time later.
The vehicle continued for some time before it allegedly struck a police vehicle and stopped on Margaret Street, Toowoomba City, around 10am.
Officers were able to take the vehicle’s five occupants into custody a short time later.
A 31-year-old Toowoomba City man has been charged with two counts of driving on a suspended licence, and one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle, driving while passenger not in part designed
for carriage, driving while passenger not wearing seatbelt, enter dwelling, evade police, obstruct police, receiving tainted property, stealing and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
He was refused police bail and is due to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court tomorrow, June 16.
A 30-year-old North Toowoomba woman has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and stealing.
She is due to face Toowoomba Magistrates Court on July 4.
A 22-year-old Wilsonton Heights woman has been charged with two counts of travelling in a vehicle with body part outside window, and one count each of contravene police direction, obstruct police, fail to wear seatbelt, possession of knife in public place and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
She is due to face Toowoomba Magistrates Court on July 11.
A 17-year-old North Booval boy has been charged with obstruct police, possess dangerous drugs, possess knife in public place, stealing and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
He was refused police bail and is due to appear at Toowoomba Children’s Court.
A 16-year-old boy has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, obstruct police, possess utensils, stealing and trespass.
He was refused police bail and is due to face Toowoomba Childrens Court.
