Remember the stories your grandparents told you? How they took you back in time? Re-live your memories through shared stories in the latest exhibition at Bankfoot House.
Storytelling at Bankfoot House showcases special objects from the remarkable heritage collection and explores how we share intimate family memories.
Heritage Portfolio Councillor Rick Baberowski said the exhibition and storytelling events would take you back in time.
“From a family sing-along, to original letters and diaries, you can immerse yourself in the lives and times of a bygone era in this special exhibition,” Cr Baberowski said.
“Each Sunday in July we will bring storytelling to life at Bankfoot House with a free afternoon tea, guided tour of the house and stories shared by descendants of the families who lived in the house, volunteers and Friends of Bankfoot House and Sunshine Coast locals.”
Free storytelling sessions will be held from 1.30-2.30pm on July 7, 14, 21 and 28. To attend please book your place by calling 5420 8600. Guided tours are available from 10am.
The curated exhibition will be on display in Bankfoot House and Mary Grigor Centre.
The exhibition closes August 25.
