A two-day workshop is being held to promote collaborative research opportunities between cancer and inflammation researchers at Hudson Institute and the Department of Immunology at the University of Toronto.
Following a successful 2018 workshop, hosted in Toronto by Professor Eleanor Fish (Associate Chair, International Initiatives and Collaborations, University of Toronto) and Professor Juan Carlos Zuniga-Pflucker (Chair, Department of Immunology, University of Toronto), this year’s event at Hudson Institute, 24-25 February 2020, featured updates and research highlights from scientists across both organisations.
The aim is to promote potential collaborations and expand a new initiative which connects research labs at the two organisations-a senior undergraduate/postgraduate student exchange and community outreach program.
The collaboration provides opportunities for long-term partnerships and potential joint funding to progress research. Several undergraduate students from the Department of Immunology at the University of Toronto spent around three months at Hudson Institute last year, which was a huge success for both students and staff.
The possibility of a reciprocal program is now being explored-where Hudson Institute students could spend time overseas working within the Department of Immunology at the University of Toronto.
Thank you to everyone who attended and spoke at the two-day event, and we look forward to seeing the exciting results of these international collaborations.
