Two men will appear in court this month charged over drug and firearm offences following a strike force investigation.
In August 2019, Strike Force Dame was established by Wetherill Park Region Enforcement Squad to target a syndicate suspected of supplying firearms and drugs from Fairfield across the Sydney region.
About 9.45am on Tuesday 17 December 2019, officers served a Firearms and Weapons Prohibition Order on a 38-year-old man at his residence on Tangerine Street in Fairfield East.
Upon searching the unit, officers located and seized 15g of heroin, laser pointers, a small amount of cannabis and prescription medication.
The man was arrested and taken to Fairfield Police Station where he was charged with two counts of supply prohibited drug, two counts of possess prohibited drug, two counts of possess restricted substance and four counts of possess a prohibited weapon without permit.
He was granted conditional bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court on Wednesday 29 January 2020.
In a separate incident, at 7.30am today (Tuesday 7 January 2020), officers from Wetherill Park Region Enforcement Squad arrested a second man, aged 32, when they executed a search warrant in Fairfield.
When searching the unit on Granville Street, officers allegedly located and seized 2.08g of heroin, 40g of an unidentified white powder substance, identification cards, drug ledgers, mobile phones, a small amount of cash, prescription medication and ammunition.
The man was taken to Fairfield Police Station where he was charged with two counts of supply in an ongoing basis, two counts of supply cannabis indictable quantity, possess prohibited drug, owner knowingly expose child to drugs, owner knowingly allow use as drug premises, goods in custody, possess prescribed restricted substance and possess ammunition without holding a licence.
He was refused bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court today (Tuesday 7 January 2020).
