In the spirit of community and creativity, the Hands On Trade Students from Benalla P-12 College and Benalla Flexible Learning Centre have dedicated months to handcrafting vibrant Christmas decorations that will adorn the main street of our town throughout the festive season.

The students’ innovative efforts have resulted in the creation of six sets of decorative presents crafted from recycled pallets, expertly decorated with festive ribbons. These charming decorations have been positioned on the exterior of each pergola lining Bridge Street, for residents and visitors alike to enjoy.

Benalla Rural City Mayor Cr Danny Claridge expressed his gratitude to the students and their teachers, acknowledging their hard work and commitment to bringing joy to the community during the Christmas period.

“The dedication shown by the Hands on Trade Students is truly commendable. Their spirit and creativity have added a unique and festive touch to our town, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for everyone,” said Cr Claridge.

“This collaborative initiative not only showcases the talent within our local schools but also highlights the importance of sustainability through the use of recycled materials. The decorative presents serve as a testament to the community’s commitment to environmental responsibility while spreading holiday cheer.

“I invite residents and visitors to take a stroll along Bridge Street and appreciate the creativity of these handmade decorations. Make sure you pause and reflect on the hard work that went into making our town look festive and welcoming this Christmas season,” Cr Claridge said.

Benalla Rural City Council extends heartfelt thanks to the Hands On Trade Students and their dedicated teachers for their outstanding contributions to the community.
