It’s time for organisations to get their submissions in for Townsville City Council’s School Holiday Guide ahead of the December holidays.
Submissions are now open for the guide, with local businesses, organisations and youth groups encouraged to get their events in now.
Community and Cultural Development Committee chairperson Ann-Maree Greaney said the guide was a one-stop-shop for parents and caregivers looking to keep their children and teenagers busy during the holidays.
“Council’s School Holiday Guide is a one-way ticket to fun for the whole family these school holidays, packed with heaps of no-cost or low-cost activities and events,” Cr Greaney said.
“Children are such an essential part of Townsville, which is why Council values the children and young people in our community.
“In supporting activities and programs that enhance young people’s wellbeing, education, and overall development we are investing in our children and teens’ physical, emotional and intellectual growth to build a brighter future for them and for our city.
“Council is proud to list its events like Messy Play in the Park, Art-box, and Riverway Movie Nights to give young people and their families enriching and exciting activities to take part in, and I’m excited to see the kinds of activities in store for children, whether they’re sporting, creative or exploratory.
“Submissions are open until the end of the week for businesses, organisations and youth groups to spruik their school holiday activities.
“Activities should suit children up to age 17 and should be no-cost or low-cost, so jump online to submit your activity for free.”
