Sister City Visit to Nördlingen
Council appointed the Mayor and the General Manager to attend the 2022 Historic Wall Festival in Nördlingen from 9 September to 11 September 2022.
The Mayor and General Manager will attend the festival as well as meetings with the goal of promoting the Wagga Wagga region for investment and employment together with identifying best practice and innovation which might benefit our region.
The Lord Mayor of the City of Nördlingen, Mr David Wittner, wrote to the Mayor in October 2021 inviting a Wagga Wagga City Council delegation to attend the event.

Collingullie village expansion
Council adopted a planning proposal to rezone land located at 9 Lockhart Road and 84 Bristol Street, Collingullie from RU1 Primary Production to RU5 Village and change the minimum lot size provisions from 200 hectares to no minimum lot size.
The planning proposal will now be submitted to the Department of Planning for finalisation.

Draft Code of Meeting Practice
Council endorsed the draft Code of Meeting Practice, which will now be placed on public exhibition from 15 June 2022 to 12 July 2022, with public submissions open until 26 July 2022.
A clear and transparent Code of Meeting Practice, which meets legislative obligations, will ensure our community is able to effectively engage with Council at Council meetings and that Councillors have clear and fundamental direction on the conduct of meetings.

Community plans on public exhibition
Council agreed to place the draft revised Public Art Plan 2022–2026, draft revised Community Safety Action Plan 2022–2026 and draft revised All Abilities Inclusion Action Plan 2022–2026 on public exhibition commencing 15 June 2022 and concluding on 12 July 2022.

Requests for financial assistance
Council supported waiving a $725 lease fee for the Wagga Wagga Rescue Squad.
RP-7 REQUESTS FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Outstanding debts
Council agreed to write off interest charges of $3,204.72 and 74 outstanding accounts totalling $13,408.64.
Council officers have undertaken all available debt recovery methods for these accounts, each amounting to less than $1000, and have now deemed them unrecoverable.
Council’s level of debt outstanding at financial year end is considered low.

Oasis Gas Supply Contract
Council noted that the current supplier of natural gas to the Oasis Regional Aquatic Centre is no longer able to trade due to the unprecedented rise in wholesale gas prices.
Councillors agreed to proceed to tender for the supply of natural gas to the Oasis Regional Aquatic Centre for a period of one year plus 3 by 12-month extension options at Council’s sole discretion.
