Officers from Scarborough Police are investigating an incident that occurred in Scarborough on Saturday 26 February 2022, in which two women celebrating a birthday were assaulted.
A group of four women were celebrating one of the women’s birthday by having a picnic on Sunset Hill at Scarborough Beach. Around 6pm, two people (male and female), who were about 10m away from the group, started to yell and hit each other. The female offender ran at the group of women and body slammed her. The victim (20s) received concussion and injuries to her shoulder, head and neck.
The female offender then turned on a second woman in the group (also in her 20s) and pulled her down the hill by her hair. Punching and kicking her along the way. The victim was concussed, and required treatment for facial injuries and bruising over her body.
Numerous families were in the area at the time and police wish to speak to anyone who saw the incident. Investigators also wish to speak to the man and woman pictured (they were with a baby in a pram and a young girl), who they believe can assist them with this investigation.
